9 BIG Things Everyone Regrets Not Packing for Vacation - AllEars.Net

When you’re on vacation, the most important thing is relaxing and enjoying yourself. The last thing you need is a headache that could have been prevented by something you could have packed!

The best way to avoid causing problems for yourself while on a trip is by preparing ahead of time and ensuring you’re packing everything you need. We know this all too well, so there are a few items we have discovered are must-haves any time we are going on vacation.

Below are nine things we always make sure to pack so we have the best trip possible!

A laundry bag is a must-have item when traveling. It helps separate your dirty clothes from clean so there’s no confusion when you’re getting dressed in the morning, plus when you get home after your trip it’s easy to just dump everything into the washing machine!

You can also hang your laundry bag up in your hotel, AirBnB, or wherever you’re staying to easily deposit your already-worn clothes in it. We prefer mesh bags because it creates airflow so you aren’t hit with an intense stench once you get home! This listing comes with two bags, perfect for separating darks and lights.

This may seem like a no-brainer, but we’re constantly the friend in the group people go to when they have a headache! Make sure you’re carrying some sort of over the counter pain medication when you travel. You never know when you’ll get hit with an ache from walking, and it would be a shame to miss out on fun activities because of it.

This pack of Advil comes with 3 packets that have 2 pills in each, perfect for when you’re on the road. There’s no need to carry around a whole bottle! Just grab a packet and throw it in your purse or bag so it’s there when you (or someone else!) need it.

A charger for your phone and other devices should be at the top of your list. But we also like to ensure we bring extra-long cables for our chargers. Why? Hotel rooms and other places you’re staying might have their outlets far from the beds, and if you’re like us you tend to scroll on your phone before going to sleep.

Pack a longer charger cable so you can still use your devices in bed (or on the couch, chair, anywhere else you need to relax). This is a set of 2 lightning charging cords that are each 10-feet long, but you can easily find these for any adapter. Now you won’t have to stop using TikTok videos to fall asleep!

If you’ve been following us for a while you have seen us recommend bringing a travel first aid kit. While we hope that no one gets hurt on vacation, it’s better to be prepared. Even if you’re headed somewhere, like Disney World, where you can quickly access first aid services, having a small kit on hand is important.

We recommend getting a kit that at least has bandages and alcohol wipes, but there are plenty that offer much more. If you’re going somewhere fairly metropolitan you can probably get away with a minimal kit. For those taking a trip where you’ll be outdoors or further away from health services, opt for a more comprehensive kit like this one that has other items like sting relief pads, tweezers, burn gel, and a variety of bandages for different cuts and scrapes.

A pocket notebook can come in handy more often than you think! Keep this small notebook on hand whenever you travel along with a pen or pencil. One of our favorite ways to use one is by journaling our trip — nothing too extensive, but at least jotting down the highlights and interesting moments of each day. After a long trip it’s easy to forget a lot of what happened, and taking a short ten minutes each evening to recount your day can help you create lasting memories.

Another way we like to use these notebooks is just for jotting down any random notes or things we’d like to remember. It might seem a little old-fashioned considering we have smartphones with notepad apps, but if your phone runs out of battery and dies you don’t want to be without the address of your destination or the name of the restaurant where you planned to meet your friends for dinner! Grab this two pack and share with someone else on your vacation.

Rain! It happens. Don’t let it ruin your trip though! Stay prepared without bringing a bulky raincoat by throwing a small disposable poncho in your day bag. These are especially helpful during the warmer months when a typical raincoat might be too heavy for the temperature.

This listing comes with a whole 10-pack, which makes it easy to share with your family. These ponchos are one-size but feature drawstrings at the cuffs and around the hood. Just tighten or loosen to adjust the fit!

Don’t get caught at the ticket counter with an overweight bag! Buying a small digital scale for your luggage can end up saving you money. It’s rare to find a scale in a hotel room, so you’ll need to bring your own to keep track of your suitcase’s weight.

These small, handheld scales are travel-friendly and barely take up any space in your bags. To use them, all you have to do is hook it to the top of your bag and lift, and the scale does all the calculating for you! This one by Etekcity has over 40,000 reviews and reviewers note that this scale is accurate and has saved them tons in overweight fees!

Often when traveling you’re operating with a limited wardrobe and you might plan on wearing an item more than once. Your plans could easily be foiled if you accidentally spill food on your clothes! While some hotels and other resorts might have laundry facilities, plenty don’t and those that do charge a hefty fee. Skip all that nonsense by bringing your own stain remover pen!

Tide To Go pens are probably the most well-known and frequently bought, and for good reason. These little sticks pack a punch and can tackle the toughest stains. We keep one in our luggage as well as our day bags in case any accidents happen!

Last but definitely not least: blister balms. Many vacations involve a lot more walking than we are used to in our day-to-day lives (especially Disney trips!) and our feet can take a pretty rough beating. If you also purchased new walking shoes for your trip the blister pain can be five times worse! Don’t miss out on sightseeing because your feet hurt; just bring a soothing blister balm.

We love BodyGlide’s products because they really do work. They have a product specifically to target blisters, and it comes in a handy stick for easy application. This stick actually works ahead of time to prevent blisters from even forming! The ingredients help minimize swelling and leave your feet feeling soft and nourished.

We hope some of these products are ones you can add to your packing list and make sure your next vacation is hassle free!

For all you trip planners out there, don’t go to Disney without reading these secrets!
