Nancy's Oatmilk Yogurt Reviews & Info (New Formula)

Springfield Creamery, the makers of Nancy’s Probiotic Foods, is a family owned Eugene, Oregon company that was founded in 1960. They are dedicated to their dairy product lines, but have also catered to dairy-free customers for years. Their Soy Yogurt was discontinued a few years ago, but they replaced it with a full range of non-dairy Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt. And this summer, they’ve decided to completely revamp their oatmilk line. It has a new look and a brand new recipe, with several ingredient changes.

What are the changes in Nancy’s Oatmilk Yogurt? The company swapped the faba bean protein for chickpea protein, down-sized ever so slightly from 6 ounces to the standard 5.3 ounce singles (the multi-serves are still the same size), increased the coconut oil for a richer (and higher fat) consistency, and replaced the agar with gellan gum for thickening. But don’t worry, it’s still dairy-free and soy-free, contains live and active cultures, and has 30 to 50% less sugar than the leading plant-based yogurts (and many dairy yogurts).

The Cold Brew and the Apple Cinnamon flavors have been retired.

These yogurts are made without top allergens, and do not have a “may contain” statement for any allergens. The container we purchased actually had dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, and soy-free listed right on the package. However, they are made on shared equipment with dairy (we’re assuming yogurt). They do not specify certified gluten-free oats on the ingredients online, but it looks like they do on the containers. Double check in store and with the company, if needed.

*Always read the ingredient and nutrition statement prior to consumption. Ingredients, processes, and labeling are subject to change at any time for any company or product. Contact the company to discuss their manufacturing processes if potential allergen cross-contamination is an issue for you. No food product can be guaranteed “safe” for every individual’s needs. You should never rely on ingredient and allergen statements alone if dealing with a severe food allergy.

Used to be great – was the healthiest non diary yogurt on the market with no added sugar and low fat. New recipe is now the unhealthiest yogurt with 8 g of saturated fat per serving. Extensive research shows coconut oil raises LDL cholesterol. Old version was creamy enough with a little stirring. Plus new taste is bland. Nancy succumbed to marketing and abandoned those of us looking for good healthy food.

I started eating the vanilla flavor and loved it. Recently I purchased the revamped vanilla and love the new packaging but do not care for the consistency or taste. Probably will not purchase again. Why fix what wasn’t broke! Disappointing

We were big fans of the old version (especially the cold brew flavor) but the new version is mostly coconut oil. There are a whopping 8 grams of unhealthy saturated fat per serving. We are switching to other brands of dairy-free yogurt. Very disappointed.

The old one was the only vegan yogurt I ever liked or bought, so imagine my disappointment at this “new recipe.” As Brenda pointed out, it is much heavier calorically and a whopping 9g of fat! Nancy’s, you messed up with this one. Now I have no yogurt to eat.

I loved the old one made with faba beans, now it is made with chickpea and other added ingredients. Additionally it added 80 more calories and 7.5 grams of fat. The chickpea makes for an aftertaste and where the prior one had somethickness, this is pure soup and does not thicken.

Stir your yogurt!! For those who didn’t like the texture of this yogurt, you must stir it before eating it and will vastly improve the texture! I’ve been vegan for just over 5 years and Nancy’s Oatmilk yogurt is the first non-dairy yogurt I really liked. Oatmilk really is the superior milk alternative in my book. This plain oatmilk yogurt is a bit tart but that’s how I like my plain yogurt so perfect for me and balances sweet fresh fruit I add nicely. I have tried a few of the flavored varieties (apple and blueberry) but found there were both too sweet for my liking but I generally find all sweetened yogurts too much for me.

I’ve been trying to find nondairy yogurt that is low sugar, higher protein compared to some options. I saw the Nancy’s apple cinnamon in the store and bought some to try. This seemed perfect. The texture was fine and the color brown albeit ok; however, it’s got quite a vinegary flavor to it. I could not eat it straight because it tasted so much like apple cider vinegar. I added some stevia and it made it more palatable, albeit still a bit tangy for my taste. So not sold on the apple cinnamon, but I would be willing to try a different flavor knowing I can add stevia.

I have to quit dairy. It’s ripping my stomach to shreds. I love yogurt and didn’t want to give it up so I tried the vanilla and the texture is different but it tastes good. Would definitely buy it again. Satisfied my sweet yogurt craving!

Possibly the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. Why bother trying if this is the best you can do. The texture is pretty awful too. Total waste of 4 bucks.

Like the low-sugar content. Tried since on sale. This vanilla isn’t my young child’s fav sub yogurt….So-Del coconut vanilla is his fav but that one has 16 grams of sugar! A little sour but tolerable with granola and fruit crisps. It might help to mix the entire container as some spoonfuls inconsistent or add your own honey or stevia.
